It was only about a month ago that I decided to split my blog into two because I wanted to separate my rare personal-life posts from my hobby output.
But I learned that it was a mistake the other day when I sat to write an article...
I wanted to start writing articles about artists, musicians, stories, places and many other things that inspire me, but when I realised I would want to duplicate this across both blogs it kind of made having two blogs seem redundant when in the majority they would be almost identical...
My other hobbies, interests and inspirations being personal to me, yet also affecting my hobby output
Neil101, you were right and I reread your comment on my post here, where I discussed the split with you.
I lifted this quote from you:
"I often think of separating things out into component parts , but then I think this is who I am take it or leave it."
Can't argue with the truth of that statement really...
I'll close the other and keep this, my first and most used blog. The other blogs name: Pull Back The Masque, will become the title for my personal life articles upon this blog.
The transition will be quick, relatively painless and probably go unnoticed in the greater scheme of things.
And don't worry... I won't be bloody doing it again!
Take care everybody,
Jonah
If it works for you, it works =)
ReplyDeleteMe. I still need to keep mine as separate entities though, I mean considering how much my thoughts meander on my musings blog as it is. I like to atleast try and keep my gaming stuff relatively organised and less ranty.
Other than my old posts from this blog, the other was just gathering dust. It just seemed pretty superfluous to my needs as a blogger.
DeleteHey mate, I often talk crap more than I do sense, but with that statement, I do agree :-)
ReplyDeleteI alienate the majority of my followers when I post about anything other than the hobby. Which is quite often.its a risk
I am willing to take, because I spent a few year's blogging what I thought other folks wanted to see at dakka. and the hobby is for me 1st and foremost. As for me personally I dislike looking at pictures of food and baby animal's on my inspiration blog inbox, or rather I only like looking at stuff
That will inspire me to work better. I delete blogs that post too often or post stuff about things that don't inspire me.
I really should take my own advice but tbh I think i am about done with the hobby really , its only the few folks I meet up with in real life that keep me on track. Other ideas
constantly battle for my creative attention.
Good luck with the new format.:-)
And nice kitbash too , unlucky about the heater incident though.
Hi, nice to hear from you again.
DeleteI realised that other than the earlier posts when I was first getting to grips with how to begin blogging, I haven't actually been posting that much personal life content anyway and it will be quite meager in comparison to my hobby posts. So now that I've merged the blogs back together everything will probably run a lot more smoothly on here and for me in general.
I've got several unfinished hobby posts I'm working on right now, in fact that is what my next post is to be about in part. I've got a lot of projects on the go and I'm going to try and remain focused and start working through them.
So maybe there'll be plenty to keep you interested :)
