Blood Angel Special characters - gifts for a friend.
One of my closest friends had the unfortunate event of having his car stolen. And packed in the back of that car was a sizeable collection of board games (many limited/kickstarter editions) and his entire Blood Angels Space Marine army.
An army that was years in the collecting... An army that I'd already helped him collect and paint many miniatures for... In fact one of my earliest posts on this blog was me painting some characters for his army as a gift : Tycho & Dante
As a group we had a whip around and bought him more miniatures to help him restart his Blood angels collection. I also volunteered to paint all the special characters for this army and this is what I have done for him so far.
Everything was just painted to a neat tabletop quality as we were trying to quickly get our friend back on his feet again after his ordeal.
The gold on these was a bit of an experiment too, which my friend went along with. They're actually painted in a colour-shift gold from Greenstuff World. but it is incredibly hard to try capture the effect in photographs. the gold actually shifts from a bronzy red to bright gold depending on the direction of light etc.
I was pretty happy with how the power weapons turned out and in getting the back banners to match on two versions of Tycho.
